Indian benchmark indices ended lower on Thursday as investors reassessed the scope of the coronavirus outbreak after China's Hubei province reported a record rise in the death toll. A surprise drop in industrial output for December and a rise in January inflation to a six-year high also dampened sentiment.
IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Tata Steel and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Yes Bank, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Zee Entertainment, Titan Company and SBI.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 41459.79 down by -106.11 points or by -0.26 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12174.65 down by -26.55 points or by -0.22 %.
During the day's trade, Sensex touched intraday high of 41709.3 and intraday low of 41338.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 12225.65 and intraday low of 12139.8.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1230.20,-3.68%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 114.65,-1.71%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 440.90,-1.57%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 541.00,-1.51%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1690.00,-1.44%), among others.
