Sensex up 103 pts; Rupee trades 70.23/$

The Indian domestic indices have reversed their losses and are trading in green. As for sectoral indices, all except Media, Metal and PSU banks were in the green. Media is the biggest loser, down 3.19 percent, while Financial Services were the biggest gainer, up 0.51 percent. The Indian rupee is trading higher by 21 paise at 70.23 per dollar.

At 14:17 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37422 up by 103.47 points or by 0.28 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11267.15 up by 45.1 points or by 0.4 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37559.67 and intraday low of 37268.35 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11286.8 and intraday low of 11199.1.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 3006.00,+4.23%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 298.55,+1.55%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 722.70,+1.24%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1399.50,+1.06%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1272.85,+1.06%), among others. On the other hand, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 145.55,-6.79%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 173.70,-5.78%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 82.15,-4.86%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 412.15,-1.90%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 238.75,-1.44%), among others.

Among sectors, IT index was at 15442.1 up by 113.65 points or by 0.74%. Tanla Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 47.65,+4.96%), Rolta India Ltd. (Rs. 6.78,+4.95%), Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 35.35,+4.90%), Brightcom Group Ltd. (Rs. 5.22,+4.82%), Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 25.65,+3.01%),. On the flip side, Power index was at 1850.73 down by -16.38 points or by -0.88%. Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 5.33,-6.65%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 38.95,-4.53%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 61.40,-3.23%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 104.90,-2.60%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 36.10,-2.56%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2773 , shares advanced were 1206 while 1363 shares declined and 204 were unchanged.
