Benchmark indices recouped all the losses with the Nifty reclaiming 10,500 levels backed by HDFC group stocks and ITC.
Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank toppled country's largest lender SBI in market cap, became the 10th most valued listed stock after TCS, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ITC, HDFC, HUL, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys and ONGC.
Globally, European markets are lower today with shares in London off the most. The FTSE 100 is down 0.22% while France's CAC 40 is off 0.03% and Germany's DAX is lower by 0.01%.
Back home, at 14:09 hours, BSE SENSEX was at 34275.35 up by 82.7 points or by 0.24 % and NSE Nifty was at 10509.95 up by 29.35 points or by 0.28 %.
The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 34287.54 and intraday low of 33899.34. The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10515.8 and intraday low of 10396.35.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3794.20,+1.73%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1167.75,+1.68%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1870.00,+1.60%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1181.05,+1.57%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 264.40,+1.38%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 193.90,-4.39%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 341.00,-4.39%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1134.75,-2.93%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 290.70,-0.90%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 537.80,-0.76%), among others.
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2892, shares advanced were 1217 while 1479 shares declined and 196 were unchanged.
