Shares of YES Bank jumped nearly 4 per cent in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange after private sector lender on Friday said that T.S. Vijayan, past Chairman of IRDAI and LIC and O.P. Bhatt, past CMD, State Bank of India, will be a part of its "Search and Selection Committee" as "external experts".
The first meeting of the 'Search & Selection Committee' is scheduled on October 11, 2018 for finalization of the advisory firm.
Following the announcement, shares of the bank gained as much as 3.78 per cent and touched an intra-day high of Rs 214.00 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar trend, stocks of the lender were trading at Rs 209.25 apiece, up 1.58 per cent, on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 34,191.43, down 185.56 points, or 0.54 per cent, from the previous close on the BSE at 9:40 hours.
