Sensex, Nifty in red; Bankex, CDS weigh

Benchmark indices erased intraday gains and trading lower with Nifty around 11,300. Hindalco, Tata Motors, L&T, Bharti Infratel and Titan Company are among top gainers on the NSE.

Indian rupee ended flat at 74.84 per dollar, amid volatile trade witnessing in the domestic equity market. It opened flat at 74.82 per dollar against Wednesday's close of 74.82 and remained in the range of 74.78-74.92.

At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 38271.29 down by -98.34 points or by -0.26 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11304.35 down by -4.05 points or by -0.04 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 38516.85 and intraday low of 38215.05 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11359.3 and intraday low of 11269.95

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 985.65,+3.79%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 1090.45,+3.05%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 4052.00,+1.31%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 724.05,+1.01%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2797.15,+0.84%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 534.10,-2.63%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 522.30,-1.82%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 87.25,-1.80%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 201.35,-1.37%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 446.20,-1.05%), among others.

Among the sectors. CGS index was at 13786.68 up by 419.1 points or by 3.14%. Bharat Forge Ltd. (Rs. 492.85,+13.36%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 1209.50,+9.69%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 39.20,+8.74%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 986.25,+3.85%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 113.75,+2.76%),.
