Sensex plunges over 200 points; IndusInd Bank top loser

Domestic bourses extended losses during the late morning deals amid selling seen in the metal, bank and auto stocks.

The stock of IndusInd Bank was trading lower by over 4 percent intraday on January 15 after the lender reported sharp increase in gross slippages due to one travel account. The private sector lender registered a healthy 32 percent year-on-year growth in profit at Rs 1,300.2 crore in Q3 despite higher provisions.

Private sector lender Bandhan Bank's share price declined 3 percent on January 15 after company's third quarter earnings missed analyst expectations with rising asset quality concerns on account of rising stressed account in MFI segment

At 11:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 41745.89 down by -206.74 points or by -0.49 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12310.15 down by -52.15 points or by -0.42 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 41969.86 and intraday low of 41718.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 12350.3 and intraday low of 12290

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2440.00,+1.30%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 1180.10,+1.14%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 565.70,+0.57%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 3115.00,+0.43%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1331.50,+0.41%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1419.45,-4.16%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 766.70,-1.12%), State Bank of India (Rs. 324.30,-1.10%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 4437.50,-1.02%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 532.10,-1.00%), among others.

Among the sectors, Realty index was at 2450.86 up by 29.57 points or by 1.22%. Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 99.85,+4.99%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 356.00,+4.78%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 556.50,+3.40%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 441.80,+1.28%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 413.00,+0.84%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2334 , shares advanced were 1119 while 1042 shares declined and 173 were unchanged.
