Indian benchmark indices opened lower on Wednesday ahead of signing of an initial US-China trade deal. US President Donald Trump is slated to sign the Phase 1 trade agreement with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He at the White House later in the day.
HCL Tech, TCS, Gail and Hero MotoCorp are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are Yes Bank, Mindtree, IndusInd Bank, Wipro, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Vedanta.
Meanwhile, Mindtree share price declined 1 percent in the early trade on January 15 despite company announced better numbers in the quarter ended December 2019. The company’s Q3 net profit jumped 45.9 percent to Rs 197 crore for the quarter ended December 2019 (Q3FY20) against Rs 135 crore in the previous quarter.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 12 paise at 70.99 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close 70.87.
At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 41786.05 down by -166.58 points or by -0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12319 down by -43.3 points or by -0.35 %.
