Nifty above 11,567; Bharat Forge rallies 3%

The Indian benchmark indices are trading more than half of a per cent higher and touching the day’s high level ahead of the positive rate cut hinted by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Among sectors, pharma, realty, metal stocks are trading higher. In individual shares, the shares of Bharat Forge rallied nearly 3 per cent after the company bagged order to supply Barak-8 MRSAM missiles' kits.

At 13:17 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 38803.61 up by 246.57 points or by 0.64 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11567.8 up by 68.9 points or by 0.6 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 38807.39 and intraday low of 38631.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11576.25 and intraday low of 11519.5.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1537.45,+3.34%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2480.00,+3.33%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 163.05,+1.91%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 154.20,+1.85%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 74.35,+1.71%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2694.30,-1.74%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 663.30,-1.68%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 91.45,-1.67%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 425.60,-1.24%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1494.80,-0.29%), among others.

Among the sectors, Metal index was at 10411.3 up by 151.68 points or by 1.48%. JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 265.30,+4.06%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 163.05,+1.91%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 198.05,+1.77%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 46.60,+1.64%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 461.00,+1.41%),.

On the flip side, CGS index was at 18888.83 down by -39.08 points or by -0.21%. Graphite India Ltd. (Rs. 282.90,-7.50%), HEG Ltd. (Rs. 1194.50,-6.74%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 65.55,-1.80%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 714.55,-1.58%), Schaeffler India Ltd. (Rs. 4522.85,-1.12%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2465 , shares advanced were 1161 while 1142 shares declined and 162 were unchanged.
