The domestic benchmark indices are trading flat with negative bias in the opening session amid subdued global cues. Sectoral indices including IT, FMCG, auto, bank, media, metal are trading in red. Bank stocks are trading lower with IndusInd bank down by 3 per cent and Yes Bank down by 5 per cent. Oil & Gas index is trading in the green on 4 per cent dip in oil prices. The Indian rupee opened flat at 69.34 per dollar. Among others, the promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) are willing to share control of the embattled company by selling half their stake to a ‘strategic investor’.
At 09:24 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 39683.17 down by -73.64 points or by -0.19 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11873.9 down by -32.3 points or by -0.27 per cent.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 820.00,+0.94%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2279.20,+0.92%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1434.00,+0.59%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 393.55,+0.49%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1516.40,+0.48%), among others. On the other hand, the top losers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 127.65,-5.20%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1511.10,-3.61%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 168.00,-1.23%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 746.75,-0.95%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 501.75,-0.76%), among others.
Among sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 15182.64 up by 34.41 points or by 0.23%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 308.00,+1.70%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1017 , shares advanced were 410 while 560 shares declined and 47 were unchanged.
