Nifty below 11,852; Jet Airways slips over 14%

The benchmark indices have extended their losses and are trading around half of a per cent lower on Thursday. Among sectors, realty, financial services are trading in green while metal, FMCG, media, pharma, bank stocks are trading in red. In individual shares, the shares of Jet Airways slipped more than 14 per cent after stock exchanges decided to impose trading restrictions on the beleaguered airline. On the other side, the shares of Adani Enterprises rose 3 per cent after receiving final approval for construction of coal mine in Outback, Australia.

At 10:22 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 39581.7 down by -175.11 points or by -0.44 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11851.3 down by -54.9 points or by -0.46 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 39724.47 and intraday low of 39528.77 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11897.4 and intraday low of 11835.2.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1527.00,+1.18%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2271.00,+0.56%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 361.70,+0.53%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 816.35,+0.49%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 191.60,+0.31%), among others. On the other side, the top losers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 122.00,-9.39%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1490.10,-4.95%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 81.35,-2.16%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 166.75,-1.97%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 743.40,-1.40%), among others.

Among sectors, Realty index was at 2133.32 up by 8.56 points or by 0.4%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 913.45,+2.65%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 265.55,+1.10%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 533.90,+0.58%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 114.00,+0.26%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 421.65,+0.26%),. On the flip side, Metal index was at 10913.54 down by -109.4 points or by -0.99%. NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 101.35,-5.55%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 166.75,-1.97%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 163.45,-1.36%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 501.70,-0.77%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 198.50,-0.70%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1918 , shares advanced were 592 while 1256 shares declined and 70 were unchanged.
