Indian equity benchmarks have extended their fall from the opening mark and are trading around over 0.5 per cent lower weighed by automobiles, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and pharmaceutical stocks. The shares of Hero MotoCorp fell more than 4 percent in morning on Monday after the stock adjusted for interim dividend. The board of directors, on January 31, declared an interim dividend of Rs 55 per share of Rs 2 each (at the rate of 2,750 percent) for the financial year 2018-19.
At 10:26 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 36349.58 down by -196.9 points or by -0.54 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10881.2 down by -62.4 points or by -0.57 per cent.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 767.10,+0.95%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1305.80,+0.79%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2861.50,+0.47%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2072.00,+0.45%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2130.50,+0.35%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 138.45,-3.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 665.50,-2.56%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1233.10,-2.31%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 79.70,-2.15%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 151.00,-1.98%), among others.
Among sectors, IT index was at 15712.42 up by 88.35 points or by 0.57%. Rolta India Ltd. (Rs. 3.97,+4.75%), MIC Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 0.81,+3.85%), 3i Infotech Ltd. (Rs. 3.04,+2.70%), Brightcom Group Ltd. (Rs. 2.85,+1.79%), MindTree Ltd. (Rs. 908.80,+1.76%),. On the other hand, CGS index was at 16494.82 down by -352.01 points or by -2.09%. Graphite India Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2035, shares advanced were 614 while 1317 shares declined and 105 were unchanged.
