Indian benchmark indices extended to trade in negative on Friday afternoon, led by heavy losses in Tata Motors, and weak cues from global markets on renewed concerns over US-China trade tiff. The Indian currency is trading at high points of the day. It has gained about 30 paise at 71.15 per US dollar. The shares of Khadim India hit a new low of Rs 382 apiece, down 15 per cent on Friday, after the footwear company reported a weak set of numbers for the quarter ended December 2018 (Q3FY19). The stock was trading at its lowest level since its listing on November 14, 2017. It plunged 49 per cent from its issue price of Rs 750.
At 13:28 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 36655.81 down by -315.28 points or by -0.85 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10974 down by -95.4 points or by -0.86 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 36885.58 and intraday low of 36581.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11041.2 and intraday low of 10951.75.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 150.40,-17.77%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 81.05,-14.14%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 157.00,-3.95%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1270.00,-2.32%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 686.65,-2.12%), among others.
Among sectors, Realty index was at 1763.43 up by 13.55 points or by 0.77%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 585.20,+2.44%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 163.90,+2.41%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 22.10,+1.14%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 200.05,+0.76%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 374.15,+0.58%),. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2521, shares advanced were 870 while 1512 shares declined and 139 were unchanged.
