Trimming all three-day losses, Indian benchmarks were trading in green during the late morning deals supported by buying in index heavyweights including IOC, HPCL, Hindalco, M&M, Dr Reddy's Lab, Vendata, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto and Sun Pharma, among others. Whereas, Shares of HCL Technologies dipped 6.7% to Rs 943 on BSE in early morning trade on Friday after the company said it will acquire select IBM software products for $1.8 billion in an all-cash deal.
At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 35516.69 up by 204.56 points or by 0.58 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10640.8 up by 39.65 points or by 0.37 per cent. Sensex touched intraday high of 35553.46 and intraday low of 35415.71 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10655.75 and intraday low of 10619.4.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1254.60,+6.19%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1322.25,+2.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 186.20,+1.58%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 275.65,+1.30%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 368.60,+1.29%), among others.
On the flip side, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 165.00,-1.96%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 327.65,-1.22%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 505.10,-1.16%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1554.00,-1.00%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 238.85,-0.77%), among others.
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2114 , shares advanced were 1017 while 982 shares declined and 115 were unchanged.
