Indian benchmarks were trading in red during the late morning trading session following Asian markets that were trading mixed, as relief US-led strikes on Syria looked unlikely to escalate was tempered by concerns at Russia’s potential reaction to new sanctions from Washington.
At 11:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 34085.66 down by 106.99 points or by 0.31 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 10458.3 down by 22.3 points or by 0.21 per cent.
In the choppy trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 34169.29 and intraday low of 33899.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10477.65 and intraday low of 10396.35.
Back home, Infosys slipped in trade on Monday, after the company said its earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) will grew 22-24% for 2018-19 (FY19) as compared to 24.3% achieved in FY18. The IT major, however, met Street expectations on financial numbers for the January-March quarter (Q4) as well as for 2017-18 while announcing its Q4FY18 results in post market hours on Friday.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 195.00,-3.85%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 343.40,-3.72%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1130.70,-3.28%), State Bank of India (Rs. 248.00,-1.27%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 587.95,-1.23%), among others.
Among the sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 14534.1 down by -132.6 points or by -0.9%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 329.00,-1.41%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd.
